What is Black Lives Matter?

Why is Black Lives Matter important?

The Black Lives Matter movememt is a human rights movement targeting racial injustice, sysytemic and institutional racism through non-violent protsest to bring about change for racial equality, justice and true freedom for now and future generations.

What caused this movement to form?

Many African Americans have died at the hands of police brutality. Many of the officers who unjustly killed those victims have not received consequences. This has been happening as far as before the 1800’s and it is still happening today.
